Did you know that Falcone Plumbing and Heatings roots date back to 1889.............
|
| Falcone Plumbing and Heating, Inc. is a third generation firm that dates back to 1889. The firm originates from Mangrum & Otter, a store for hardware, plumbing and tin that existed over 116 years ago at 81-85 East Santa Clara St. in downtown San Jose. That store was eventually bought out by Charles Payne who later sold it to to C. L. Snyder and Dubrutz in in the early 1920's. A short time later Mr. DuBrutz died and the name was changed to C. L. Snyder Company and operated as such for many years.
Charles J. Falcone began working for Snyder in the 1940's but, soon began to provide his own services. Operating from the garage of his home on Cherry Ave. in Willow Glen he and his wife Laureta stored everything from toilets to water heaters.
Nineteen-forty-five marked the new beginning, as Falcone left his job with Snyder and began Charles J. Falcone Plumbing on Lincoln Ave. In 1966, his store became Falcone & Snyder Co. Inc. when he bought out C.L. Snyder. Charles J. Falcone eventually sold his business to his two sons, Charles P. Falcone and David J. Falcone. Soon the two brothers split up and Charles P. Falcone ran the business until his death in 1992. Charles second son Michael now runs the business today as Falcone Plumbing and Heating, Inc. at 650 Lincoln Ave. in San Jose.
